McAfee Encryption to Bitlocker

Customer has upgraded to Config-Mgr 1910 and now would like to use BitLocker management. however currently encryption is happening via McAfee and would like to migrate from McAfee to Bitlocker. anyone has run into this scenario as of now? Windows 7 devices needs Wipe and load to use Bitlocker feature or exiting OS can we implement bitlocker and remove McAfee agents.

well you cannot have two different disk encryption methods at the same time so if you want to move to BitLocker (good choice) then you'll first need to completely remove whatever encryption that McAfee has put in place. Once that is done and the McAfee agent is removed you can enforce BitLocker easily with Configuration Manager, check out my blog post here for guidance.

Thanks Niall. I've Win7 and Win10 devices in environment and I've planned approach to remove McAfee Policies and remove McAfee agents on devices, then start implementing Bitlocker encryption.

you also need to remove any encryption on those devices before implementing BitLocker.
