Macca Posted May 10, 2010 Report post Posted May 10, 2010 Hi, Currently I have just deployed SCCM 2007. I have successfully had one client on there which seems fine. I have now, manually, pushed out the client to a second PC using the commandline: \\server\site\Client\ccmsetup.exe /dp:SERVERNAME SMSSITECODE:SITE The client is now on the console but not registered. I've had a look at the log file and I'm getting: "Couldn't get directory list for directory 'http://server/CCM_Client/ClientPatch'" Which is correct - it doesn't exist. I also get: Couldn't get directory list for directory 'http://server/CCM_Client/i386/00000409'. This directory may not exist. - This is also correct - it doesn't exist. The client is available by the IIS website - it's in the http://server/CCM_Client/i386/ directory - but the 00000409 directory does not exist. At the moment it is downloading the client again (and taking an age I might add - literally a hour for half of the file so far). I will report back what happens next- but it anyone has any idea why this is happening or how to fix it I would be most grateful. M. P.S. The client on the machine did install fine - took two hours though!

For the 00000409 folder i just ignore it. Usually the installation takes 20 minutes or less. Hope it helps

YiannosG Posted May 10, 2010 Report post Posted May 10, 2010 Thanks - where do I create the folder? M. If you open your IIS you will see on the sites a CCM_Client folder which is the location of the client installation files. You need to create it under it. Most probable the folder CCM_Client on IIS is mapped to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Configuration Manager\Client (dont have my server in front of me right now) Check it and if you cant find it ill post tomorrow morning the path

I created the directories and all is well. One last question is that when I'm deploying the client I get this: <![LOG[Download Update: Connecting to the server.]LOG]!><time="12:10:39.387+-60" date="05-11-2010" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="1" thread="248" file="ccmsetup.cpp:6791"> <![LOG[Download Update: 655838 out of 17847296 bytes transferred.]LOG]!><time="12:15:39.374+-60" date="05-11-2010" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="1" thread="248" file="ccmsetup.cpp:6783"> <![LOG[Download Update: 1304470 out of 17847296 bytes transferred.]LOG]!><time="12:20:39.354+-60" date="05-11-2010" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="1" thread="248" file="ccmsetup.cpp:6783"> <![LOG[Download Update: 1959742 out of 17847296 bytes transferred.]LOG]!><time="12:25:39.418+-60" date="05-11-2010" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="1" thread="248" file="ccmsetup.cpp:6783"> <![LOG[Download Update: 2521282 out of 17847296 bytes transferred.]LOG]!><time="12:30:39.529+-60" date="05-11-2010" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="1" thread="248" file="ccmsetup.cpp:6783"> <![LOG[Download Update: 3150325 out of 17847296 bytes transferred.]LOG]!><time="12:35:39.532+-60" date="05-11-2010" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="1" thread="248" file="ccmsetup.cpp:6783"> <![LOG[Download Update: 3799128 out of 17847296 bytes transferred.]LOG]!><time="12:40:39.534+-60" date="05-11-2010" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="1" thread="248" file="ccmsetup.cpp:6783"> <![LOG[Download Update: 4454643 out of 17847296 bytes transferred.]LOG]!><time="12:45:39.552+-60" date="05-11-2010" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="1" thread="248" file="ccmsetup.cpp:6783"> <![LOG[Download Update: 5103452 out of 17847296 bytes transferred.]LOG]!><time="12:50:39.554+-60" date="05-11-2010" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="1" thread="248" file="ccmsetup.cpp:6783"> <![LOG[Download Update: 5758805 out of 17847296 bytes transferred.]LOG]!><time="12:55:39.556+-60" date="05-11-2010" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="1" thread="248" file="ccmsetup.cpp:6783"> <![LOG[Download Update: 6399303 out of 17847296 bytes transferred.]LOG]!><time="13:00:39.558+-60" date="05-11-2010" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="1" thread="248" file="ccmsetup.cpp:6783"> <![LOG[Download Update: 7021889 out of 17847296 bytes transferred.]LOG]!><time="13:05:39.560+-60" date="05-11-2010" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="1" thread="248" file="ccmsetup.cpp:6783"> <![LOG[Download Update: 7677344 out of 17847296 bytes transferred.]LOG]!><time="13:10:39.578+-60" date="05-11-2010" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="1" thread="248" file="ccmsetup.cpp:6783"> <![LOG[Download Update: 8325910 out of 17847296 bytes transferred.]LOG]!><time="13:15:39.580+-60" date="05-11-2010" component="ccmsetup" context="" type="1" thread="248" file="ccmsetup.cpp:6783"> Now as you can see that client update which is about halfway through is about an hour into its runtime. YiannosG Posted May 11, 2010 Report post Posted May 11, 2010 It looks like you are throttling your BITS. What do you have under this? Go to Site Management >Server > Site Settings > Client Agents > Computer Client Agent
Macca Posted May 12, 2010 Report post Posted May 12, 2010 For some reason the picture upload's not working at work (blooming proxy!) What I ticked is: Apply to branch distribution points only Throttling window start time 08:00(am) End Time 10:00(am) - so two hours Maximum transfer rate during throttling window (Kbps 9999) UNTICKED: Allow BITS downloads outside of throttling window I've probably gone wrong somewhere - looking at that picture I think I should have it going to branch distribution points and all clients? Macca Posted May 12, 2010 Report post Posted May 12, 2010 Also - rather than making a new post - I wondered if anyone could help on the following. When I try to pust the client (I don't want to auto-push it yet as it's still in test) to machines I've discovered it doesn't work. According to the CCM.log file on the server it's because it's trying to use the machine account. I don't want it to use the machine account, as it doesn't have permissions on the clients. Is there anyway to change this. I'd like it so I can manually push it out but not automatically. Many thanks for your help thus far mate! M.
