installing CS3

Question

Hey

Ive tried installing Adobe CS3 Master Collection through SCCM 2007 sp2. Using the .xml, and with UNC patch and with drive letter path. Cant get it to work, i can see i when deploying but it "jumps" over it. Im out of ideas now. Anyone know a good way to deploy it with sccm?

I have read through the pdf from adobe and it doesnt help very much, and many forums on the internetz but no help there.

Ive tried fixing som permissions and such on all folders involved.

used all commandlines i can think of when adding the program in the sccm package.

Ive deployed Office 2007 and mozilla firefox without any problems, but it seems that Adobe havent put much effort in the deploying function to the CS3 package.

Oh im trying to deploy on Win 7 Ent.

Any ideas someone?

Thanks in advance

check here on appdeploy.com

Hi Niall,

Refer to your firefox setup guide, I can deploy different types of exe (wise) packages successfully. However I have problem with deploying msi file. When I tried the run command msiexec.exe /qn /i "\\sccmsvr\share\Tools.msi" on all workstations locally, the packages was successfully updated. However it was not working under my advertisements. It doesn't work even if I convert bat to exe files.

I try searching msi deployment guide from here, microsoft and google seems not a good instruction like your Firefox one does. Could give me some hits on it. Appreciate your help.

you shouldnt be hard specifying the path to the msi like so

msiexec.exe /qn /i "\\sccmsvr\share\Tools.msi"

try something like this instead

msiexec.exe /qn /i "Tools.msi"
