Migration from sms 2003 to sccm 2007

Hi All,

 

I want to do a migration from my sms server to sccm 2007.

My plan is to deploy first a new sms server as child of the existing one (sms1 is parent and sms2 is child).

after replication between them (all objects were replicated),i break the relationship between parent/child.

now using the new sms2 server,i find that all my machines clients (previously replicated from the parent sms1)still assigned to the old sms1 server and have the parent sitecode.

my issue is how to reassign them to the new sms2 server.

your help will be appreciated.

Hi ,

 

You can try re-pushing the clients from the SCCM console or you can try the below script to change the site code. You can distribute this script thru software distribution method or can apply as logon script.

Set oInstance = oCCMNamespace.Get("SMS_Client")

oCCMNamespace.ExecMethod "SMS_Client", "SetAssignedSite", oParams

 

'xxx - refers to site code
