FCPS-sccmer Posted July 20, 2010 Report post Posted July 20, 2010 Our original install of SCCM 2007 sp1 was done by a vendor so I am in the dark as to how the setup was done. We are now in the process of upgrading to SP2 as well as installing all new servers to house our distribution points at each remote location. This has created several questions that I am not finding answers to in the stuff I have read... 1) Since we are doing both processes, will it save any time/effort to wait until after the upgrade to SP2 to create the new dist points? 2)Where in SCCM do I make the new servers "protected site systems"? 3) After making them Protected and pointing the paths to the new servers, is copying the 2 folders "SMSPKGD$" and "SMSSIG$" (the packages and the .tar files)all that I need to do? Or is there an install that needs to be done on each dist point? Thanks in advance for any info anyone can provide, I got dropped into this in the middle and am trying to figure it all out:-)
