0 wmmayms Posted July 23, 2010 Report post Posted July 23, 2010 If you don´t set a mandatory assignment time on your advertisement that will make the advertisement optional to those that are in the collection that it is tageted to. For example this advertisement will be optional:

0 soomon Posted July 23, 2010 Report post Posted July 23, 2010 yup and optional advertisements can appear in the Run Advertised Programs gui in Control Panel. yeah it does appear there. at least on the it machines, ( we have admin rights on our computers). but it does not appear on other pcs where the users have no admin rights. but the program itself runs with administrative right, does it? so basically this should not make any difference, right? i also triggered the actions on the configuration manager but this didn't help. maybe it appears when the pc is restarted... or where can i look if there are any problems? No,Irrespective of users if they have admin rights or not ,it will show in RAP (Run advertised programs) but it uses account which can be specified in the Program properties properties like run with administrative rights or users rights. Check the logs if the machine recived the policy or not ?
0 soomon Posted July 26, 2010 Report post Posted July 26, 2010 hi, thanks for the tip, when i tried to re-run the advertisement it told me to re-create it if machines never received it. so i did that and now it seems to work *happy*
