WinPE Screen Disappears

Hi

 

I am trying to deploy a captured WIM image (manually installed Win7, installed apps, some security settings etc) using the SCCM 2007/MDT 2010 but after I get pass the PXE boot I see the regular "SCCM Welcome...." screen, then "Preparing Network settings...." box and then first that dialog box disappears and then the "SCCM ...." background image and PC reboots and nothing gets installed.

 

Here is my environment:

 

SQL Server 2005 is on one box

 

And the following are on another box

Windows Server 2008 Standard

SCCM 2007 R2 SP2

MDT 2010

WDS

WAIK

 

Operating System Image and setup files added (in ConfigMgr)

WDS installed (but not configured...left every setting as default)

PXE Role added (with Unknown computer support and all PXE response to all Network interfaces)

Both 32/64 bit boot images have the NIC drivers added

Distribution points updated

Tasks created and linked to "All Unknown Computers..." (I tried both SCCM and MDT deployment tasks templates)

 

but I am not having any success ...

 

The above mentioned is production environment and just an FYI that I had 100% success when I setup my lab server (everything on one server.....and of course with help from this forum) with both Image Capture and Deployment.

Hello,

 

This is Network Connectivity issue, please make sure that you add network drive to boot images and update boot images distribution point after adding network driver.

 

To Check Network Connectivity:

 

1. Make sure that "Enable command support" is enabled in the Boot Image
2. Attempt the deployment
3. When the WinPE desktop appears and you see the Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 wallpaper, press F8 to open the command prompt window
4. In the command prompt window, type IPCONFIG

I did add NIC drivers to both 32/64 bit boot images and updated the distribution point. However I did not check the "Enable command....." option....I will do that and try again.....thanks
