Kevin79 Posted August 11, 2010 Report post Posted August 11, 2010 I'm setting up SCCM for testing right now and have a few questions. I followed the guide http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?/topic/1064-sccm-2007-guides/ First off, under "Software Distribution", it is showing the application has been advertised to 3 computers, 1 hasn't been started and 2 are waiting. I know it has installed on 1 of the computers though. Why doesn't it say that one was installed? Why are there still 2 "waiting"? We currently use Group Policy to install software and have DFS set up to replicate the software to our remote sites (which we have 11 of, all with various connection speeds and types) I.E. Group policy is set to install the software from \\<domain>\software\ so that each location installs from the local copy and not over the slow site link. Is there a way that I can have SCCM continue to use my DFS share for software distribution? Would I set up a SCCM server at each location? anyweb Posted August 11, 2010 Report post Posted August 11, 2010 have you tried drilling into the reports for the package in question it should reveal the details of why it's waiting dfs shares are not used by configmgr, if you want to replicate data you'll need to use configmgr to do it or manually do it using the preloadpkgonsite.exe program for that particular package.
