What are MDT,SDK,WAIK ?

Question

Hi,

 

 

I am learning about SCCM distribution and packaging.I have customized some softwares and have deployed them.I am also learning about OSD and patch management.Ours is a central site server with MDT,WAIK and SDK installed.I would like to know about them.Are they mandatory or one can do without them ? I am really new to SCCM.Please can someome explain the scenarios when these will be used

MDT is not needed but is a nice add-on in terms of additional functionality within your task sequences for OSD in SCCM, the WAIK is builtin to SCCM 2007 SP2 and it contains tools such as Microsoft Windows SIM for editing unattend.xml files etc, but not needed for general OSD usage,

 

the sccm guides here on windows-noob will show you when and how to use the features

Thank you.I am clear about the two.What about SDK ?

 

For example if i want to customize an open source software there are many tools available in the forums.However if i want to customize a software like adobe acrobat professional is there a tool for that ? Like OCT for office
