Task Sequence v Advertised Program

I am currently deploying Windows 7 using OSD and a task sequence which also installed Office plus some other applications.

 

If I have a machine that I want to deploy Office on, but I cannot advertise it as it is part of the task sequence, what would be the best approach for installing?

add the computer to a collection that you are advertising office 2007 to, and make that collection membership based on a query which is an Active Directory security group membership

Thanks. Have this working now. Wasn't sure whether when an application is installed as part of a task sequence, if you were still able to install on a machine that is not being deployed using OSD.

You can include it in your os deployment task sequence if you want it included with the image, or you can deploy it as a standard package. In either case as long as you have the correct switches to make it a silent install, it works. Use the setup.exe /admin to bring up the OCT, make your configs, save the msp file to the updates folder. Then, in your app program just use setup.exe as the command, it will install with no prompts.
