SCCM software deployment problem

Question

Hi,

First off I must say your forum is great and very valuable resource of information.

I have problem that I am struggling to resolve for days now so I decided to write this in hope that you can help me.

I have installed SCCM 2007 SP1 R2 on Server 2003 SP2 and everything seemed to work fine but when I tried to deploy software it just don't work I tried all kind of stuff and it just isn't working.

I created site and communication with site works fine from SCCM console (resource explorer) but when i try to send some package to install on it it stuck on and stays like that. There are no Anti virus, Firewalls or anything in between and I installed it all with Domain Administrator account, AD Schema is extended without errors. I was reading on your site about possibilities what It could be and then checked site status and component status and found out that not everything is that great. Not all is green as it should be. Look at attached image. I hope you can help me or at least point me in right direction any advice is welcomed.

Thanks in advanced.

Hi to all, Me again

Finally after some time troubleshooting I was able to find out that what my problem was and I must say that I am really feeling silly since it was permissions on DP site where site needs to have under local administrators account a AD computer object of SCCM server and I didn't know that I had to turn IIS and WEBDAV to allow BITS to work OK.

Well that's behind me and now deployment work in on some of my servers where my DP sites are not DC-s, so my next question is since a DC has no "local admin" accounts, how do I give the site server computer$ account admin access to the DC and/or what should the permission on the DC\smsShare look like??. In mean time I will google off course :))

Simply You can add the SCCM Site server Computer account to Builtin Administrators Group on DC.If the DC is hosting anyother Role apart from DP,then you may need use SMS_SiteSystemToSiteServerConnection_sitecode .For more info http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb680864.aspx
