here is a problem that has been bugging me for some weeks now.
I work for a non profitable organization and at the moment we don't have a corporate solution for file anti-virus/protection.
so what I have done is I have deployed Microsoft Security essentials with the "setup.exe /s /runwgacheck" command line in program options and it worked fine.
Now my problem has to do with updating the clients with daily updates. What I have done is the following:
- Created a package
- Created the program
- Created advertisement with the setting "Always rerun program"
So when I download a new version of the essentials update I update the DP with the new file, change the mandatory assignments date and then re-run advertisement.
The thing is that the program is being advertised to clients but the new source file is not downloaded to the clients. instead of that I receive the following error:
The program for advertisement "GHQ2000F has failed because download of the content "GHQ0000F" - "Security Essentials Update" has failed. The download failed because the content downloaded to the client does not match the content specified in the content source. Possible causes: The content on the distribution point has been manually modified, or a local administrator on the computer has modified the content in the computer's hash. Solution: Refresh the content on the distribution point and retry the download.
Is there something that I have been missing? Maybe a setting that will force the source file to be re-downloaded its time I rerun the advertisement? Or, can I Achieve what I want to do in some other way?
I know that if I create a new advertisement my problem will be solved but until the next update when i will, again, have to create a new advertisement.
