Task sequence fails to start while deploying windows 7

I added the captured.wim file and advertise the task sequence the way its mentioned in the forum. But the task sequence

does not start.how do i troubleshoot it or check the log files as on the client machine it does not show anything.

Error 00004005 is Acces Denied. Check this if it helps you http://support.microsoft.com/kb/977203/ .can you post the additional info from smsts.log ?

Are you running this with hardlinking or SMP ? it fails to find the SMP location .

Failed to find an SMP that can serve request after trying 4 attempts.

Check if you have KB974571 if so, Uninstall patch KB974571 off the client machine and start the Task srquence again ?

I dont have the above KB974571 installed, i cant find this in ADD remove program too.

I have created package for USMT 4.0 and also added the SMP role

I have created packaged for USMT 4.0 from ProgramFiles\WindowsAIK\Tools\USMT\x86 folder and dsitributed it. I have also configured SMP

and provided the value where the data will get stored and while creating TS i check the option use state migration option to save the data.

On the workstation,i have client agent installed ,is in domain and i am advertising it directly under ALL Windows XP collection since there is only one machine

whih i need to migrate from XP to Windows 7, so i havent created any new collection.

 

Also i am not using computer association.

 

i am bit confused with the steps invloved while doing USMT , is there need to use the .xml files or the default settings are enough.

Secondly can anyone pls help /provide me the steps to go ahead as i am getting 0x00004005 error when the TS is progressing Release User Storage.
