Deploy a simple shortcut with sccm 2007

Hi,

 

I have tried (now 1 day) to deploy a simple shortcut to my desktop computer. This are the ways i have tried it:

 

- xcopy

- .vbs script

- autoit (with a filecopy command and by FileCreateShortcut)

- with a .msi

 

Nothing works. When i make an advertisement and the program runs on the destination computer, nothing happens. sms manager says the program is ready, but no shortcut on my desktop. When i run the .vbs or .au3 script manually it works fine on the destination computer. When i run it with the configmngr nothing happens.

 

Any suggestions?

maybe you are running the advertisment with SYTEM.

 

Try running the create shortcut with the loggin user. That should work since it will know which user you are using so it will put it on your desktop

I am having a similar problem, The machines are all used by different users and therefore different log in accounts.

 

Can SCCM be configured for the app to run under the "current" user some how?

Go to the Properties of the Program. Then go to the Tab Environment, when you select there Only when a user is logged on you can select Run with user's rights.
