Anyway to permanently resolve 1603 errors?

Question

Hi,

This is my first post. I have a SCCM 2007 R2 server running. The client push installs on Win7 machines, but gives me 1603 errors on XP Machines.

However, I can resolve this by running regsvr32 atl.dll and then repushing the client...which finally results in it installing with a code of 0.

Is there any patch that resolves this or should I just create a GPO script that runs regsvr32 atl.dll /s to make sure there are no failures?

I have searched technet high and low...looked at log files and tried other fixes, but the regsvr32 atl.dll is the only thing that works.

Thanks in advance.
