Keslaa Posted January 16, 2011 Report post Posted January 16, 2011 Hello, I am trying to figure out how the membership of sites can be configured. We currently have SCCM set up using AD sites as the site boundaries. However, we will have a number of machines that will not be members of the domain that will still need to be accounted for and will have IP addresses that match the range defined within the AD site. I have advertised applications to these machines and while the adverts find their way to the clients, the clients cannot find a management point to get the packages. How do I configure this? Peter van der Woude Posted January 16, 2011 Report post Posted January 16, 2011 Then you have to create a Boundary for an IP Address/ Subnet. Just make sure that you don't get machines that will fall in both Boundaries.
anyweb Posted January 16, 2011 Report post Posted January 16, 2011 have you tried adding a SLP (server locator Point) Server locator points are used in a Configuration Manager 2007 hierarchy to complete client site assignment on the intranet and help clients find management points when they cannot find that information through Active Directory Domain Services. Intranet clients use Active Directory Domain Services as their preferred method to complete site assignment and find management points. However, clients must use a server locator point if the Active Directory schema is not extended for Configuration Manager 2007 or the site is not published to Active Directory Domain Services, or if clients do not belong to the same Active Directory forest as the site server's forest.

Keslaa Posted January 16, 2011 Report post Posted January 16, 2011 have you tried adding a SLP (server locator Point) Would I need to configure one on the secondary site? I already have that configured on the central site.
Peter van der Woude Posted January 16, 2011 Report post Posted January 16, 2011 You don't need that on a Secondary Site.
