Client push issues

Recommended Posts

So i have re-setup 2 fresh domains and tried our current domain and had an issue pushing the clients. The Log file shows this.

I have read about this error all over the net but am not finding any solutions. I just disabled all my firewalls so that is not the issue.

The test domains i setup were in vmware workstation behind a nat and the one on the live domain was in vmware also but being bridged.

OS = 2008 r2

SCCM = 2007 SP2

SQL = 2008

CWmi::Connect(): ConnectServer(Namespace) failed. - 0x8004100e SMS_CLIENT_CONFIG_MANAGER 1/23/2011 12:19:17 PM 4496 (0x1190)

Unable to connect to WMI ® on remote machine "computer name", error = 0x8004100e. SMS_CLIENT_CONFIG_MANAGER 1/23/2011 12:19:17 PM 4496 (0x1190)

Currently trying it on a copy of 2003 SP2 with SQL 2005 SP2 to see if that effects it at all.

Yes i can connect to the admin shares on the box. I dont really know how to test the WMI stuff but from technet i did read this thread TECHNET I did what it said there

From the site server, start wbemtest.exe from a command prompt

Click Connect

In the Namespace box, type \\clientname\root\default or \root\cimv2

I don't really know how to use the tool but it seemed to connect.

I did get my 2003 box up and going and exact same issue :(

CWmi:Connect(): ConnectServer(Namespace) failed. - 0x8004100e

---> Unable to connect to WMI ® on remote machine "Temp-PC", error = 0x8004100e.

So basically i am getting this error when i am setting up from scratch, and i have set it up from complete scratch 4 or 5 times now. I am throughly confused on why i cant push these darn clients :(

Ok so after fighting with this if i leave the thing up overnight it seems to get the client pushed. Is this normal behavior that it takes that long to push the client?

Nope,basically,the error 0x8004100e says ,"Not enough storage is available to complete this operation".This will logged in eventviwer as well i guess if you check it up.

I guess i am not really following, I am not seeing the error (Not enough storage is available to complete this operation) where would i see that? plus these machines have all been fresh builds with enough storage everywhere. And why does it seem to work when left over night?

Okay.May there could be other reasons for this error but i just guess,that could be one of the reason for this error.Not 100% sure about other causes that happened to work in a one night :)
