WDS TFTP Restart

Question

Hi,

Hoping someone can help me with this.

I am running Windows Server 2008 R2 as a virtual machine on VMWare.

We have recently moved to the new virtual enviroment.

Everytime i now try to build a pc using the deployment server from PXE it manages to download the wdsnbp.

It then contacts the server and then does nothing for 5 minutes before erroring with the following message :

Failed to restart TFTP

TFTP download failed

PXE-MOF : Exiting Intel boot agent.

This has only happened since we have moved to the virtual enviroment.

Anyone got any ideas ?

Have you tried this?

To resolve this problem, reinitialize the WDS server after you move the WDS server to a different organizational unit. To do this, follow these steps:

Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK.

At the command prompt, type wdsutil /uninitialize-server, and then press ENTER.

Move the WDS account to Active Directory in the new organizational unit.

To reinitialize the WDS service, type wdsutil /initialize-server /reminst:{RemoteInstallFolder} at a command prompt, and then press ENTER.

Pulled the data from here.

See if WDS service is started or not ? this could be one of the reason for this issue.
