I have been testing Operating System Deployment in SCCM 2007 R2 to deploy Windows 7. This works perfectly except for our mobile devices with McAfee Endpoint Encryption installed and the drive fully encrypted. What happens is the following:-
1. The Windows 7 OSD task seqeunce notification appears.
2. The task sequence runs the task "Restart in Windows PE" and copies the boot image down
3. The PC reboots and displays the error "Missing Operating System"
The encryption totally breaks the whole process and we end up with a blank hard drive. I suspect that because SCCM causes the machine to reboot into Windows PE, it has made modifications to the MBR and McAfee detects this and kills the drive. As I say, on our desktop PCs with no encryption the Windows 7 build is successfully applied.
Has anyone else had issues with OSD and McAfee Endpoint Encryption 5.1.7?
