Software Updates Client Notification

Question

I'm working on deploying software updates to client machines using SCCM. The trouble I'm coming across is that when clients get/download updates and the updates are installed, if some of them require system restart, the clients will get "A newly installed program requires this computer to be restarted. Please Save your work and restart you computer. Your computer will automatically restart in: <time>" with options button to "Restart Now". Also in the task bar there is a big yellow exclamation icon. Our customers will think this is Virus and freak out. Idealy I would like to have have default SCCM Software update notification with following options:

- Default Software Update icon should display in the taskbar and notifies user that the Windows Updates are in progress if they click/hover over it.

- If there is a need to restart the computer, user would get small pop-up indicating that in order for Windows Updates to install successfully the system needs restart with two option: Restart Now and postpone for another 5 minutes.

- I do not want user selecting which updates to install and when.

If I "Allow Display Notifications on Client" the user will get the last bullet point above. Is there any way I can acomplish this? The user notification does not seem to be as flexible as Software Distribution Packages module.

After researching I found out that SCCM SU is not as flexible as WSUS as far as notifications go but I did find useful info on the following links for people that are just getting started with SU:

thanks
