I discovered this morning that windows 7 or windows 7 sp1 requires SP2 for sccm as the cause for ccmsetup not being able to install .
At the time I was trying to do it manually (ccmsetup.exe etc...)
I thought this odd as I remembered having to install SP2 as part of the sequence for installation of SCCM, which i completed a few months ago.
So i went and checked the version details for SCCM on my server.. 4.00.6487.2000, R3 - Yes. (Site Server : Local[iEDUBAPP010], SQL Server : Remote Server[iEDUBAPP001])
Other than a WSUS SYNC Component alert everything else looks fine.
My only package for now is a office 2007 and that seems to work /deploy fine for vista machines.
the details of the ccmsetup log in c:\ccmsetup\ on the windows 7 machine shows :

so i guess my question is do i just reapply SP2 or do i have to resort to a complete clean install...
note: when i setup this I would have done it in this order, im nearly sure i did it that way:
