Win 7 Deployment Configuration Manager Client is not set up - Zero Touch Installation

Question

Hi!

I just tried to deploy Windows 7x64 Enterprise by doing a zero touch PXE-Boot installation.

Works perfectly but unfortunatly the Windows Firewalls seems to fool me after the OS Deployment at the point of the task sequence where the Configuration Manger Client is set up. The Client is not going to be installed :-(

When I disable the firewall for the domain profile and push the client everything works fine.

How do I install the Client while the OS is installed? What am I doing wrong?

Kind regards

Bjoern

in winpe:

Option1: disable FW in unattended.xml file

Option2: run Command: cmd.exe /c wpeutil disableFirewall

in Windows (after Setup Windows and ConfigMgr):

Option1: disable FW in unattended.xml file

Option2: run command: cmd /c netsh advfirewall set allprofiles state off

Option3: use GPO to deactivate FW in the OU where you prestage the machine

You should activate the FW later after installation automatically again with a predefined Ruleset for your environment/domain!
