Lykan Posted June 1, 2011 Report post Posted June 1, 2011 Hallo everyone, I actually testing the OSD in SCCM2012 with Windows 7. The OS is installed correctly(with Network and Domain Settings) but I can’t get the Client installed. I created a Package from Definition with the Client.msi in the SCCM dir ( \client\x64\client.msi ) which should be installed in the Task Sequence. But it don’t. P.S. Also the disable Firewall step won’t work anymore (in 2007 it works) and I don’t know why.
HSChronic Posted June 1, 2011 Report post Posted June 1, 2011 What does the SMSTS log say? You said you created a package from the MSI? So that would give you the per-system unattended and whatnot correct? You shouldn't create the package using that because the commands for installing a client in a TS are't going to work if you created the package by importing the MSI. Create a package from definition is correct but you want to use the built in definition for the Client not one created from importing the MSI. HIMA Posted July 10, 2011 Report post Posted July 10, 2011 Configuration manager client program requirements by default does not include the platform for windows 7 (X86 or X64), just you need to add them.
Trevor Sullivan Posted July 11, 2011 Report post Posted July 11, 2011 Assuming that ccmsetup.exe is getting kicked off, you'll want to check the contents of the ccmsetup.log file (64-bit = %WINDIR%\ccmsetup; 32-bit = %WINDIR%\System32\ccmsetup). Hope this helps. Cheers, Trevor Sullivan http://trevorsullivan.net http://twitter.com/pcgeek86
