do you want to import computers using direct memersip rule which are avilable from excel sheet? or create query based collection ?

The method is not important really as long I as can create a new collection with membership based on the computer names I have in a spreadsheet..

Not by default... The only thing you can import (based on a CSV file) are new machines...

 

It's possible to create your own script (based on the SDK) to add machines to a collection.

I would recommend using Rick Houchin's Right-Click Tools for SCCM. You can right-click a collection and paste in a list of computer names you'd like to add to the collection. That is probably the most straightforward method of handling it for the time being, without some custom scripting.
