Deploying / Capturing OS PXE

Question

Hey All

been trying this for a few days now and not getting to far.

ive got a PC that PXE boots and loads winpe and starts the task sequence but when it tries to connect to \\sccmserver\smspxeimages$ or any share on the sccm server it doesnt connect

when i launch CMD and try to map the drive the username isnt accepted

i enter a network username and password and im told

no more connections can be made to this remote computer at this time because there are already as many connections as the computer can accept.

i can map from this PC to another PC or server on the network

i can map to the sccm server from a normal desktop PC thats built and connected to the domain.

i have setup the Computer Client Agent

I have even set permisions on all folders to full control from this user and for everyone to try and get it working.

from the PC im trying to capture it resolves DNS and can ping fine

here is the log from the pxe boot

any help or pointers would be great

I see and error 71, which would mean "No more connections can be made to this remote computer at this time because there are already as many connections as the computer can accept".

Hi Peter

yeah i noticed this, yet i can map drives to it fine from Windows PC's already part of the domain. Its just from this winpe boot image that it wont connect.

the share it self has over 16000+ allowed connections.

it seems a little odd.

cheers

Does the info from Step 3 on located here: http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?/topic/446-how-can-i-setup-wds-in-windows-server-2008/ help to double-check that you didn't miss a configuration setting?

And I'll toss these quick steps in here just because I've got them right on hand:

1. Extract the contents of your SCCM boot media .ISO to C:\InstallCD

2. Use Imagex to mount the C:\InstallCD\Sources\boot.wim to a folder (C:\Mount in this example):

imagex /mountrw C:\InstallCD\Sources\boot.wim 1 C:\mount

3. Copy the C:\InstallCD\SMS\DATA folder to C:\Mount\SMS.

4. Use Imagex to unmount the image and commit the changes.

imagex /unmount /commit C:\Mount

5. Add the C:\InstallCD\Sources\boot.wim as a boot image on the WDS Server.
