office 2012 silent install issues

Question

I need help,

I am trying to install Office 2010 via SCCM. I have built the office 2010 package and advertisement and when I assign it to a collection I show the client downloading the package with no issues and a pop-up notifies the client that the install will occuer in 5 min.

I watch the task manager and ccmexec process runs. After the client downloads the package task manager shows the setup.exe start for the office install but at that point it down not install office. The setup.exe just stays there.

I am trying a silent install and am using a office customization tool .msp file attached. I used basic settings (install key and organizational info)

**********************************************************************

I also used a config.xml for the customization of office seen here. The config.xml file is in teh root of teh \\servername\Office10\x86 folder on my share*************************************************************************

What is the problem. Why won't office actuall install when sccm pulls the file downa dn the setup.exe runs on the workstation

Is it a permission issue that i'm not seeing here. I assume if SCCM can push the software to the client it should install. Maybe ther's comething in my config.xml or .msp file

PLEASE BE SPECIFIC IN YOUR SUGESSTIONS AS I AM VERY NEW TO SCCM. PLEASE DON'T ASSUME I KNOW WHAT YOU MAY BE SAYING IF YOUR GENERAL IN YOUR SUGGESTION.

Thanks

your humble IT guy

Just tossing this out there since nobody has chimed in yet... Have you tried manually running things from a Command Prompt window to make sure you've got the needed command for your SCCM package? Typically I try to include the path to any transform or answer file when deploying an application - even when things say that you don't have to it helps prevent issues if there are multiple answers files and things like that...

And if you're new to packaging Office, make sure you've checked this out: http://www.appdeploy.com/packages/detail.asp?id=1802

Oh, and if possible you might try editing the title of your post to "2010" instead of "2012" in case others are just skipping over it...
