How manage user profile

hi,

 

actually i have a probleme with application deployement on Windows7 with sccm.

For example :

I deployed Acrobat reader and it installed shortcut in public desktop.

So a user cannot delete the shortcut on desktop.

If i modify permissions on public desktop, the user can delete the shortcut BUT for all users.

I want each user can manage the shortcut only on his desktop (and not the desktop of the other users)

Have you a simple method during the deployement of an application (or configuration in Win7) to create shortcut in the user desktop of each users and not in public desktop ???

Hi Monk,

 

not a simple but working mehtod is active setup . This method requires msi based insatallations and you need to modify them.

Another method are adevertise shortcuts , which i prefer because active setup works only 1 time, as long the corresponding registry entry under current user exists.

Both require editing the msi files and the tools for doing it.
