Installing software Update during OSD task Sequence

Having strange issue with software update during OSD task sequence.

Currently using SCCM 2007 R2 , mixed mode on windows 2003 R2. Currently I am trying to deploy windows update during windows 7 OSD deployment. Have create software update point on SCCM and install WSUS on SCCM itself. All updates management task are done on sccm and wsus remains untouched, I have created deployment management package targeting all system. Task sequence steps are attached.

 

When I log into the freshly deployed PC and check on windows update it comes with windows is up to date but when i click on the link " check on-line for updates from windows update" it manages find to some updates. I have checked those updates and compare it to deployment package. Updates are present in deployment package but missing on freshly deployed PC.

Moreover can not see updates in installed updates history . Seems like install software updae task sequence is completely skipped

Changed the deployment management to install update on collectioc: All unknown systems. Updates seems to be installing. But when logged onto the system and checked the update status it comes with fail.

I am having a similar issue. When I check a fresh image that I just created and scan for updates from Microsoft, it is coming up with 13 that are missing. These updates are on my WSUS server. When I look at the task sequence log it is running the step correctly, and when I look in the Windows Update log says it is scanning against my WSUS server and finds no updates.

Figured it out. Downloaded all the applicable Windows 7 updates again and this time they applied. Perhaps a bad catalog??
