I have a client that in their current Xp image has My Documents redirected to c:\data. When I run USMT using miguser and migapp it backs up the folders and most files within that folder. It does no back up file ext for xmaple like .pdf, wmv, jpg and so on. I thought USMT 4 supported redirection by I dont think so. Since I am running into this problem here is what I need to do and a little history.
( I am migrating from XP to Win 7 only the XP image has My documents redirected to c:\data, not the windows 7 image.)
So if the client has the My documents redirected to c:\data on their XP image and inside of that directory they have multiple folders and files all files shoud be backed up ? A test run showed that the folders and known extensions where backed up from c:\data, but for example .pdf, .jpg, .wmv files where not backed up or restored and these files ext's where within the folders and root of c:\data.
So I don't know if I need to create a .xml which will backup c:\data and all files and folders inside it for it to work? Amd I
I have read the usmt.chm and other sites and don't understand how to create the .xml if it is needed.
I am doing this via ZTI (OSD)
Below is my cs.ini that is driving the process. I did create a config.xml to control some settings, and the miguser, and migapp. Basicly the client only wants to backup C:\data, fav, desktop, and nk2 files.
