desktop shortcuts

Question

My company is moving from ZCM 10 to SCCM 2007. Presently we have several Zen desktop shortcuts on the users’ PC after they login. In Zen it was easy to modify the paths for the program or URL and use any icon we liked. SCCM 2007 is new to me.

Users are not able to delete the Zen icons if they do they reappear after the login. These shortcuts also need certain icons so the users will recognize the shortcuts. The shortcut needs to be pushed to 5000 PCs. What is the best way to recreate this in SCCM 2007?

Thank in advance for any help

Joe

Actually there is no adequate replacement for this zenworks feature. We solved this by creating a Link Folder shortcut for every location pointing to a network drive folder which holds the necessary shortcuts. This way you can replace or modify the shortcuts on the fly without pushing them to every client over and over again.
