I'm sure someone came across this problem before but I couldn't find an answer anywhere on the web as to how to avoid this scenario .. hoping I'll get lucky here.
I'm using Windows PE 3.1 from WAIK for Win7 with ImageX. I've downloaded GImageX which is a neat GUI for ImageX to capture images. When I capture an image of a computer and restore it back, I'm getting an error:
File: \Windows\system32\winload.exe
Status: 0xc000000e
In order to start the windows, I have to boot back to WinPE and do following commands:
bcdedit /set {default} device partition=c:
bcdedit /set {default} osdevice partition=c:
bcdedit /set {bootmgr} device partition=c:
THen the computer boots up without any problem.
The computer image I'm capturing has only one partition C: there is no system partition Windows 7 is creating with a standard installation. I'm also applying the image on one partition (partition 1).
Does anyone has an idea how to avoid it so it boots up once the image is applied?
