SMS WSUS Synchronization Failed

Can't seem to find any fix to this issue. Tried several methods listed on various sites such as correct folder permissions or uninstalling and reinstalling WSUS and SUP. My lab configuration is a Windows 2008 32-bit server with WSUS 3.0 SP2 installed along with SCCM 2007 R3. It appears that my when the synchronizaton reaches 65% it fails. I notice that the same updates are the problem. I dont't think that we will be using these updates. How do I bypass these of even delete them. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
