Windows 7 sysprep

Recommended Posts

First of all, Merry Christmas everyone.

I know it's a bit sad to post something today, but this has been bugging me for the past 3 days. Wife not too happy.

I've created a OSD that uses a sysprep file for bare metals machines. It works perfectly fine.

I have another OSD that does a image refresh, but for some reason, it does not like the sysprep file. The sysprep file is the same for the bare metals. Is there something I am missing? And get an error "Failed to copy C:\_SMSTaskSequence\Packages\P0100014\sysprep4_x64.xml to c:\windows\panther\unattend\unattend.xml (80070002)". At the command prompt, I can copy the files manually with no problems. So I don't think it is a access issue. Also, the image uses 1 partition, so no system reserved partition. And as soon as I remove sysprep file from the Apply OS task, it runs perfectly fine, but of course without the settings I want.

I swear I've been pulling my hair out. If anyone can shed some light, I will be very greatful. Let me know if you need to see the logs.

Cheers,
