BenSBB Posted January 22, 2012 Report post Posted January 22, 2012 Hi all, I'm trying to install SCCM2012 RC1 to a Server 2008 R2 SP1 x64 server with SQL 2008 SP2 CU7, but i'm receving the following error about SQL running as a local account ... even though as far as I can tell it's not (I created an account called SQL on my domain "TEST") I also tried setting it up as noted in the guide at http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?/topic/486-how-can-i-install-sql-server-2008-in-windows-server-2008/ and I get the same errors. IF it helps I also get a 2nd error for "SQL Server sysadmin rights" - "Either the user account running Configuration Manager setup does not have sysadmin SQL Server role permissions on the SQL Server instance targeted for site database installation or the SQL Server instance could not be contacted to verify permissions. Setup cannot continue" Sorry I don't really have much experience with MSSQL 2008 Thanks for the help in advance!
wmmayms Posted January 23, 2012 Report post Posted January 23, 2012 Looks like all you need to do is change your MSSQL service to use a domain account. You can do this from services.msc
