SCCM 2007 -> SCCM 2012 RC Migration

Recommended Posts

For the purpose of testing/playing around with sccm 2012, does anybody know if the migration process destroys any of the data in my sccm 2007 environment?

I want to build a test server, install the 2012 RC and run through the migration process, test deployment to a couple of clients etc.. but still be able to use my 2007 environment and complete the migration again when 2012 reaches RTM.

Cheers

Adam.

Thanks. I'll keep a look out for that...

Could I.....

run a very small boundary on 2012 RC that would also be included in the 2007 boundary without any issues

or

as the 2 environments need to use different sites codes, just run the same boundary without any issues?

yes you will have problems unless you are a Microsoft TAP customer, you should not install RC2 into production otherwise, it's not supported to upgrade it at all. So you'll have to install again from scratch when the final code is available (RTM).
