I followed the SCCM 2007 deployment guide and everything went smoothly. After stopping by a few computers, I noticed that a number of machines all sp3 has stop communicating with the SCCM server(they have the client installed) and when I try to repair the client, i get that nasty 8007005 access is denied for the wmi namespace.
I've used the WBEMTEST tool and I get the same error in the log, so I'm not sure what the problem is.
Googling around I've found several fixes..some work some do not. I'm wondering if anyone has nailed down a specific issue with sp3, WMI and SCCM 2007 clients. We do use a GPO, but thats only for allowing remote administration through the firewall . Ideally, I'd like to fix this problem remotely as there are to many machines to visit one at a time...I did try the PSexec script for wmi repair for the targetted computers and that didnt work at all.
It seems like its only sp3 machines, windows 7 machines are working just fine.
