wfrederick Posted February 15, 2012 Report post Posted February 15, 2012 I have recently installed SCCM 2007 Sp2 on a virtual MS 2008 server (VMware), using the instructions provided in the www.windows-noob.com forum. Unfortunately, I am unable to advertise the package to the target workstation. Are you able to assist or offer any suggestions? 0 Peter van der Woude Posted February 15, 2012 Report post Posted February 15, 2012 How? In a Task Sequence? If so, then what are the step, what is the error and when does it happen?
0 wfrederick Posted February 16, 2012 Report post Posted February 16, 2012 I am trying to attach a screen shot of the Software Distribution window, Status of Advertisement to Destination Computer. It simply states, Not Started I do not see any error, none given. Where would I begin to look?
0 anyweb Posted February 17, 2012 Report post Posted February 17, 2012 did you add the computer you are interesting in testing to the collection where you advertised a task sequence ? does that client have a working configuration manager client ? 0 wfrederick Posted February 22, 2012 Report post Posted February 22, 2012 I had to rebuild the Distribution Point and Task Sequence (to many chiefs in the soup, if you know what I mean). Anyway, I see the target computer and I am able to remote access it; however, nothing as far as Advertising or transferring information to the target computer. I used the target’s MAC address without the SMBIOS GUID, would that have anything to do with the problem? Would you happen to have a check list, to ensure I have everything configured correctly? 0 wfrederick Posted March 6, 2012 Report post Posted March 6, 2012 I have discovered VMware is not a Supported Virtualization Environment for SCCM2007: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd547071 Additionally, one must validate the virtualization environment through the Server Virtualization Validation Program (SVVP): http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=134672
