kanga Posted February 16, 2012 Report post Posted February 16, 2012 Hi all, I have seen similar but not the same issues in here. Wonder if anyone can help? Just using the absolute standard settings to install SCCM and im getting a prereq fail of The logon account for the SQL Server service cannot be a local user account or LOCAL SERVICE. You must configure the SQL Server service to use a valid domain account, NETWORK SERVICE, or LOCAL SYSTEM. The account being used for this SQL (which is on the same machine and has named pipes enabled) is the network service account. I'm also getting an error saying BITS is not installed when it is Any ideas? Server 2008R2 on domain, but using a test server. and running SQL 2008 R2

AdamF Posted April 7, 2012 Report post Posted April 7, 2012 I had the error about the SQL service account. I am using the deafult sql instance name (MSSQLSERVER) and I on the dialog for Database Settings (where you have Server Name, Instance Name, Database Name and SSB Port) I had specified MSSQLSERVER as the instance. Removing that (because it says leave blank for the default) resolved that problem on the pre-req check.
