Kevin79 Posted November 5, 2012 Report post Posted November 5, 2012 I set up a remote site server but clients don't seem to be using it. I can find the smsts.log file. What log file should I look at to see why the clients are connecting to it?
MagnumVP Posted January 15, 2013 Report post Posted January 15, 2013 How can I verify that the clients are connecting to the DP in that boundary and not crossing the WAN?
Peter van der Woude Posted January 15, 2013 Report post Posted January 15, 2013 Take a look at the client logs (for example the CAS.log).
MagnumVP Posted January 16, 2013 Report post Posted January 16, 2013 Thank you. From the log I found what I was looking for.
Kevin79 Posted January 16, 2013 Report post Posted January 16, 2013 Thank you. From the log I found what I was looking for. Was it the CAS.log file or a different one?
Kevin79 Posted January 16, 2013 Report post Posted January 16, 2013 Does this mean it is downloading from all of these locations or could connect to any of them?
anyweb Posted January 17, 2013 Report post Posted January 17, 2013 look for Matching DP location found X - in the above it lists two distribution points that match dp 0 and dp 1 (for your first package) and more dp's for your second package
Kevin79 Posted January 17, 2013 Report post Posted January 17, 2013 Any idea where I would look to see why it is using all of those locations for HOL000F? The boundary it set to use just the surrey-sccm server.
anyweb Posted January 17, 2013 Report post Posted January 17, 2013 overlapping boundaries perhaps ?
Kevin79 Posted January 17, 2013 Report post Posted January 17, 2013 Not that I see. Each boundary consists of an IP range and is only assigned to one site system. I don't know if this matters but each server listed in that picture is just a DP and not a secondary site. I can post screenshots of the boundary group configurations and such if you need.
