Yellie Posted March 28, 2012 Report post Posted March 28, 2012 Hello, First of all thanks windows-noob for the great articles. Currently I have created an Task sequence for 1 model laptop. In this task sequence I use a Task sequence variable "languageValue" which I retrieve from the collection variable set on "unknown computers" On my primary site system I have all language file packages distributed. If I start the task sequence it is resolving all the task sequence dependencies and it will install the language files based on the variable. On a DP in Sweden for example I only have the Swedish language file packages, so the task sequence dependencies are failing because it cannot find all other language packages on this DP. Is there a way to solve this or should I create a task sequence for each language. Kr, Yellie
anyweb Posted March 28, 2012 Report post Posted March 28, 2012 can you clarify this please On a DP in Sweden for example I only have the Swedish language file packages, so the task sequence dependencies are failing because it cannot find all other language packages on this DP. are you saying that you are not distributing ALL packages referenced in the task sequence to all dps ? what if (for example) you have a Danish user in Sweden who needs their computer reinstalled, are they out of luck because they are not in Denmark ?, my point being, i would be distributing all referenced packages in a ts to all dps.. Yellie Posted March 28, 2012 Report post Posted March 28, 2012 That is right we do not distribute all packages for all languages to all DP's (to prevent unnecessary disk space, cause all our users are managed at their local office). So the DP in Sweden contains all swedish language packages and so on.. In my opinion I had two options: 1. Push all packages to all DP's and have 1 task sequence 2. Create a task sequence for each language. But i was hoping there was another option.
