SCCM 2012 RTM + SQL Cluster

Recommended Posts

Hello..

i have successfully installed the SCCM 2012 RC2 in an test environment.

but when i try to install SCCM 2012 in an production environment it fails.

so my questions is follow:

- Do i have to install SQL 2008 on the SCCM2012 for the SMS Provider?

- How can i do an workaround to use the SQL Cluster (SQL 2008 R2 CU4)?

- I get an load of errors that state the SQL server is not installed on the SCCM 2012 server even if i have spesified the SQL Cluster as database server.

have you seen this ?

Configurations for the SQL Server Site Database

Each System Center 2012 Configuration Manager site database can be installed on either the default instance or a named instance of a SQL Server installation. The SQL Server instance can be co-located with the site system server, or on a remote computer.

When you use a remote SQL Server computer, the instance of SQL Server used to host the site database can also be configured as a SQL Server failover cluster in an active/passive cluster, or a multiple instance configuration. The site database site system role is the only System Center 2012 Configuration Manager site system role supported on an instance of a Windows Server cluster. If you use a SQL Server cluster for the site database, you must add the computer account of the site server to the Local Administrators group of each Windows Server cluster node computer. gg682077.note%28en-us,TechNet.10%29.gifNote SQL Server database mirroring is not supported for the Configuration Manager site database.

Hello.

thanks for the reply, i have managed to fix muliple errors.

but i have one error left.

- Required SQL Server Collation

this error is probably releated to the SMS Provider? (that can not be installed on the SQL Server Cluster)

hello.

thanks for the reply..

the only problem is that when i run the checks before install this problem occurs because it is pointing to the SCCM server and not the SQL server...

so my question is if this is comming from the step when i where i provided the SMS Provider under the installation step..
