Kevin79 Posted May 7, 2012 Report post Posted May 7, 2012 On some of my clients, the SCCM client is failing to install. Looking in the log, I see "This operating system does not contain the correct version of BITS. BITS 2.5 or later is required." Is there a way to have it automatically install BITS 2.5 or can I push it out via WSUS? What is the best way to get around this error without having to go to each computer and manually install BITS? shrim Posted May 23, 2012 Report post Posted May 23, 2012 Hi I am having the same issue with Windows XP SP3 Point of sales systems. Any suggestions? When I downloaded the latest bits, the installation states new version is already installed. Help Please.....
Peter van der Woude Posted May 23, 2012 Report post Posted May 23, 2012 AFAIK there is no way of publishing BITS 2.5 via WSUS. You need to deploy it via your old software distribution tool, or manually or whatever… but it needs to be done before installing the new client...
