Part 5. Adding WSUS - Followed instructions but client deploy fails

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have been following all the guides for setting up 2012 but now I'm unable to deploy the CM client using WSUS in part 5. I have gone through the instructions 3 times and googled it to death. Think I will go with a GPO deployment of the client but thought I would check here first. I have a Primary with remote SQL and setup boundaries by IP address range. We currently have SCCM 2007 setup in our environment as well. If has anyone can point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it.

did you follow my guide exactly ?

This client might be within the boundaries of more than one site - AD SiteCode search matched 2 entries ccmsetup 6/6/2012 8:19:43 AM 3628 (0x0E2C)

The client will be assigned to the first valid site

is it in a boundary that is already assigned to your SCCM 2007 clients ?

Yeah I noticed that. I was playing with the discovery methods but have since disabled forrest discovery so the error should be gone now. Going through the instructions again just to be sure I didn't miss anything.

YAY! I figured it out without microsofts help. This error 0x80004005 is a problem with BITS on the client machine. EnabledBitsMaxBandwidth needs to be changed to dword value 0 for max bandwidth. The key is located here in win 7 HKLM \Software \ Policies \ Microsoft \ Windows \ BITS. After I changed this my WSUS and manual client push worked like a charm!
