wlayne Posted June 29, 2012 Report post Posted June 29, 2012 We're using SCCM 2007 and USMT to migrate our XP machines to Windows 7 using what I believe to be a fairly standard task sequence. We're migrating profile data, with the exception of the Administrator account, as it was causing issues with Group Policy. Everything goes smoothly, except for the fact that there's a profile, C:\Users\Admini~1, that gets created once Windows 7 is installed. I was wondering why this gets created and whether it is it safe to simply run a script to delete this profile/folder. Thanks in advance. Peter van der Woude Posted June 30, 2012 Report post Posted June 30, 2012 Are you excluding the Administrator profile on a good way during the User State Migration?
wlayne Posted July 3, 2012 Report post Posted July 3, 2012 Peter, I would assume it's the good way. For the additional capture settings, we're using the following value: /hardlink /nocompress /uel:90. For the additional restore settings, we're using: /hardlink /nocompress /ue:%computername%\admin_account. The administrator account in our environment is renamed so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. Also, as I understand it, /uel and /ue can't be used together, which is why I separated them. Thanks.
bjohn Posted August 8, 2012 Report post Posted August 8, 2012 Have the same issue also and we also rename the administrator account in group policy. Quite annoying to see the C:\Users\Admini~1, folder
Elemanzer Posted August 9, 2012 Report post Posted August 9, 2012 Is it on the image? Are you running a sysprep? Try a windows 7 image without USMT and see if the folder is still there. Maybe a script at the end of the TS to delete that folder.
bjohn Posted August 10, 2012 Report post Posted August 10, 2012 No, it's not on the image. I capture my images in Audit mode using MDT, sysprepped. I'm sure the folder can be scripted to be deleted, but is it safe? I've seen c:\users\Administrator also.
