Damien Posted July 9, 2012 Report post Posted July 9, 2012 Hi Guys, I was running SCCM 2007 before I wanted to upgrade to SCCM 2012. I have set up AD as the boundary for both sites. My problem is: In some SCCM 2007 clients, SCCM 2012 site code (P01) comes up in the config manager client (advance Tab) even after reimaging from SCCM 2007. In all of the SCCM 2007 client’s Location service.log I can see the SCCM 2012 site (P01). Why is PXE always defaults to SCCM 2007 when I have the both servers on? If I turn off the SCCM 2007 then it will go to SCCM2012. What’s the best way to force the clients to use a specific site, when you have 2 sites setup? Thanks. Peter van der Woude Posted July 9, 2012 Report post Posted July 9, 2012 Ehmm.... you shouldn't run two Sites next to each other like that... This way you create overlapping Boundaries, so the clients get confused about which Site they have to assign to... A 2012 client cannot assign to a 2007 site, but a 2007 client can assign to a 2012 site. blogi Posted July 9, 2012 Report post Posted July 9, 2012 You could remove the AD SITE boundary and put in subnet or ip ranges for your boundary group. so you can migrate ranges over from sccm 2007 to 2012. Peter is right that having overlapping boundaries is a no no when it comes to site assignment.

Damien Posted July 24, 2012 Report post Posted July 24, 2012 I have another question, When I have both SCCM 2007 and 2008 running PXE always goto SCCM 2007 box. can anyone please let me know how I can force the clients to PXE from SCCM 2012, while the SCCM 2007 is on (how to control where the client go fo PXE)? Note: If I turn off the SCCM 2007 box then the clients woul PXE from SCCM 2012 box.
Kingen Posted July 24, 2012 Report post Posted July 24, 2012 Thanks for the reply guys, I removed the AD boundry and assigned IP ranges. now clients seems to know where to go. How did you remove the AD boundry in sccm2007? Did you just delete the IP-addresses from Site settings > Boundaries ?

Kingen Posted July 24, 2012 Report post Posted July 24, 2012 Unbox the "Allow this PXE service point to respond to incoming PXE requests" in SCCM2007 site: Maybee, im not sure, if you haven't already done that
