naturelover Posted July 18, 2012 Report post Posted July 18, 2012 Hello! I have a problem connecting with Remote Assistance from my SCCM2012 to Windows 7 clients. When I try, I get error message(attached) I don't have any problems connecting to Windows XP clients. Remote Tools is working fine on W7 and XP. Windows firewall is switched off. Maybe there is some Group policy to change? Please help!
Peter van der Woude Posted July 18, 2012 Report post Posted July 18, 2012 I think you are missing the GPO for setting the users for Remote Assistance. I thought somewhere around here: Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Remote Assistance.
naturelover Posted July 19, 2012 Report post Posted July 19, 2012 Thank you for your reply Peter! I have checked that directory, nothing special in there
Rocket Man Posted July 19, 2012 Report post Posted July 19, 2012 May be simple but have you enabled the remote assistance feature on your server....this error generally means that remote assistance feature is not installed on the server.....Just because it is enabled on your client settings does not mean it will automatically work...you have to enable the feature on the server and if you have remote DPs enable the feature also on these...it can be found on server manager Roles and Features This all I have ever done and it works fine....i never tried the group policy method as i have never needed to + also all my clients are Win7 so no reason as to why it cant work on Win7 clients.
