blogi Posted July 26, 2012 Report post Posted July 26, 2012 So, I have 3 data centers with 500 servers in each. I am planning on having 1 primary in 1 DC and 1 secondary in each of the other 2 DC's. On my primary, I have my wsus upstream and I setup my packages and distribute to the 3 DP's. Now, MUST I have a downstream wsus server in my secondary sites? I am understanding it that if I create a software update package and distribute it to all my DP's, the clients will pull it from their local DP and everything is happy. I don't see a reason of installing the SUP on the secondary sites if that is the case. Also, is there a way to force the clients I am targeting to reboot immediately after I pushed down my updates? They clients want to wait 90 mins before restarting. That is a global setting in the client device computer restart and I just want my windows updates to restart based on the collection I am targeting. Thanks edit: So, I read this Without a local SUP on a secondary, clients retrieve the update catalog directly from the SUP in the client’s assigned primary site.Guess I do need a sup in each site.
