LespaulFender Posted August 3, 2012 Report post Posted August 3, 2012 I have been able to start an image I I have created. I get the F12 then PXE boot F12. I then Log in and select the new image I have created. The image kicks off fine but then I get a red X and the error: Task Sequence: (Image name) has failed with the error code (0x80070570). For more information, please contact your system administrator or helpdesk operator. I also then can not redo F12 and restart the process for testing. need some help. Trevor Sullivan Posted August 3, 2012 Report post Posted August 3, 2012 Hello, The error message 0x80070570 translates into this text: "The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable." Given the nature of this message, it sounds like perhaps you have a supporting software, driver, or operating system image package that is corrupted. I would recommend ensuring that all of your distribution points. You can probably find out more detail about which package is failing, or any other details, by examining the smsts.log file on the system that is failing to run the task sequence. As far as why you are unable to use F12 to PXE boot the system again, it is probably due to the Windows Deployment Services (WDS) cache timeout value, on the server that holds the WDS role. LespaulFender Posted August 3, 2012 Report post Posted August 3, 2012 Trevor, Do you think updating my distribution points may resolve the issue? I am using the same process with my other images and after 3 hours of testing they seem to be working fine. I looked at the machine for that smsts.log and was not able to find it on that machine, is there a way to find this on my sccm server and where would I look on the server to find it? The PXE did start working again on that unit after about 30min. I am still wondering why and will check out the site you recommended by Jason Sandys.
