Bumbi85 Posted August 13, 2012 Report post Posted August 13, 2012 Hi, ive followd the RTM Guide along with the guide for Build and Capture. The VMWare client boots fine with pxe, and OS installation works fine and it captures the media without any problem. But it wont install the patches. I have downloaded and deployed all avaible windows 7 patches except a few and deployed it towards my Build&Capture collection and added the following in the "setup configmgr" step: smsmp=sccm2012.labb.local I have also check the "Enabled Command line support" option on the bootimg, but it dont want to appear when i hit F8. Any ideas? //Bumbi85

Bumbi85 Posted August 20, 2012 Report post Posted August 20, 2012 I seem to have found the issue, was looking in the WUAhandler.log on an installed client and found this: Group policy settings were overwritten by a higher authority (Domain Controller) to: Server http://XXXXXX:8530 and Policy ENABLED WUAHandler 2012-08-20 15:33:36 2728 (0x0AA8) Failed to Add Update Source for WUAgent of type (2) and id ({7C736AAF-FA9F-44F0-8E63-0E5D7A6AF2A3}). Error = 0x87d00692. WUAHandler 2012-08-20 15:33:36 2728 (0x0AA8) I remebered adding a policy to push the sccm klient to the computer using windows update, even thou it's the same server it bugged when trying to push patches using SCCM klient. After i removed the policy the patching started on the client. Will try build and capture next.
Bumbi85 Posted August 21, 2012 Report post Posted August 21, 2012 Fixed patching with an installed client in that collection, but when i try a build and capture on the client the problem persists. Peter van der Woude Posted August 21, 2012 Report post Posted August 21, 2012 Things to look at are: Boudaries, make sure the clients Ip address is part of a Boundary. Management Point, make sure the client can find the MP (as it can not connect to the AD).
Nick Posted October 9, 2014 Report post Posted October 9, 2014 Had the same issue. We moved our MP recently and the build and capture task sequence for one of our least used images was still pointing to the old MP. fixed it and now it pulls updates again, thanks!
