SUP and WSUS Migration Question

Recommended Posts

Hello,

This site is truely amazing, and has the best community on the net.

Quick Question.

We originally set up SCCM 2007, we left out WSUS server completely seperate and did not install a SUP because the WSUS server was set for decommision later down the road.

We want to move our WSUS server onto our SCCM server and now implement a SUP and manage updates through SCCM and the consoles.

Looking at the guides on this site it seems fairly straight forward. Are there any general roadblocks that we might be running into?

Thanks

the only thing to think about is if there are any Group Policies pointing to the old WSUS server you'll need to remove them as ConfigMgr will want to control software update delivery

Thanks, that is something I would have no doubt overlooked.

Anyweb, I have passed on this site and your SCCM guides to so many people to get their small proof of concept enviroments up and running. Your guides are simply unmatched in explanation of features and details.

Have you considered doing an SCSM one? I am just curious because your work is that much better than anything else out there, and it seems that the SCSM 2012 really has made great strides.

Thanks again
